Show Notes-

This week on Cultivating the Lovely, MacKenzie Monroe and co-host Erin Odom talk about personalities, specifically what it’s like to be an ENFP and how to be a good friend to an extravert! If you want a good place to start learning about the Myers-Briggs typing system, check out 16personalities.com. Also, in January on the Patreon page, MacKenzie posted about resources for learning more about your personality type. Erin and MacKenzie chat about a variety of personality type topics, including:

  • Being friends with extroverts
  • Why it’s good to know your strengths and weaknesses

  • Since ENFPs are one of the most introverted of the extroverted types:
    • they need some down time to themselves
    • they get their energy from being around people
    • they are verbal processors, but on their own time
  • Why MacKenzie loves video chatting on Marco Polo and live broadcasting
  • ENFPs and consistency struggles:
    • habits that save energy and decision fatigue are easier to keep going
    • accountability and feedback are really valuable
    • need someone to help them see the practical side of ideas and think through the implications before deciding what to pursue
    • sometimes needs advice on how to get out of the idea stage and into practical implementation
  • ENFPs and being late
  • ENFPs are willing to do about anything for their friends, but their friends need to be careful not to take advantage of that.
  • Why ENFPs greatly value authenticity
  • Why ENFPs may struggle with boundaries in relationships
  • How ENFPs tend to do something in an “all or nothing” way
  • ENFPs and the perception of them being “flighty”
  • Friends of ENFPs need to be supportive and helping them stay on track

Thank you so so much, ladies. I’ve been following Erin for a couple years now, but I came across this episode through her email links somehow. As I sat here editing one of my printables, I was just so blessed that there are at least TWO other women out there who think like me! I drive myself crazy sometimes and I’m sure have definitely driven friends crazy who don’t know what to do with me. Every aspect of blogging you mentioned is exactly what I deal with over here, too. Being real about those feelings is a struggle when you have an online presence. Pushing forward for His glory, and I’m praying for both of your families as you brave this world. Big hugs to you – xoxo. (but not in a creepy way… lol)

Isn’t it great when you really resonate with what other women deal with! I’m so glad you shared with us a little bit about yourself and that you “get” us!
