Delving into Rhtyhms, Routines & Traditions for our households & families with The Bold Year Challenge

Alright, we made it through Meal Planning Month! Wahoo! Only one month in and we can all feel like better homemakers already!

For February we are going to be focusing on developing more solid Rhythms, Routines and Traditions for our homes and families. I have really been looking forward to this month as I think it gets straight to the heart of what this Challenge is all about- it combines both mothering and homemaking in perfect harmony!

As we work our way through the month I have laid out week-by-week mini-themes to help us get a grapple on these different areas of our lives and the lives of our children. I want to encourage you all to get into lots of discussion in our Facebook group (which you just have to be an email subscriber to the blog in order to join- simple!). I think this is a topic where we can really glean a lot of inspiration from each other and help keep each other accountable to sticking with the goals we have made.

The weekly mini-themes:

Week 1: The Rhythm of Our Weeks- This week will be all about the to-do list- the items we have to do daily and weekly to keep life rolling. We will evaluate what all we have on our plate, prioritize and make a plan for how to actually get done what we need to get done! (However, we will be saving the planning of “cleaning” tasks for next month.)

Week 2: Daily Kids Chores- Let’s plan ’em, teach ’em, and stick with ’em!

Week 3: Daily Anchors- This week we will work on creating 2-3 basic daily anchor times in our home that even if all else goes to you-know-where in a handbasket, these times stay consistent and are things our kids can count on. It may be quick pick-up times throughout the day or read alouds in the afternoon- the everyday anchors.

Week 4: Traditions- This week we will explore all kinds of traditions that we can establish for our families, anything from a daily tea time, to a weekly pizza night, to the seasonal and holiday activities we want to make sure to do every year. We will work on planning what we would like to create for our families and make actionable steps for putting them into practice.

Some Printables to Help You Out

To get us all on our way towards figuring all these rhythms, routines and traditions out, I thought it would be helpful to have some printables to help us compile all of our thoughts and make solid plans.  This printable includes a page for each week and will go along with posts that I will be putting up weekly on that week’s mini-challenge. You can also easily file these behind your February Tab in your Bold Year Challenge Binder.

To get your printables you just have to be an email subscriber- the link and password to all my subscriber-only printables will be in the bottom righthand corner of any post update emails you receive from me.
